About The Position

The Associate Research Scientist Internship at Syensqo is designed for students pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. The role focuses on supporting the Synthesis Team in the development of surfactants and natural polymers, contributing to projects aimed at creating sustainable chemical solutions. Interns will engage in lab-scale experiments, data analysis, and collaboration with various research teams, enhancing their practical skills and industry experience.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of organic chemistry and characterization techniques such as NMR and FTIR is preferred.
  • Interest in laboratory work.
  • Proactivity, autonomy, and open-mindedness.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and respect all Bristol site safety rules.
  • Proactively support the development of new molecules (surfactants and natural polymers).
  • Develop more sustainable chemical routes.
  • Perform lab-scale experiments to obtain necessary data.
  • Characterize samples using techniques such as NMR and FTIR.
  • Analyze lab data and communicate results internally.
  • Summarize results and discuss conclusions with the project team and Techno R&I team.
