About The Position

As a Food Formulation Scientist at Amway, you will be responsible for creating innovative and high-quality supplement products that improve the health and wellbeing of consumers globally. This role involves leading the formulation design and development of various products, including gummies and protein shakes. You will work with a cross-functional team of experts to design, develop, and optimize food products that meet customer taste, stability, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will lead focus groups to ensure wide product appeal and assess new ingredients and processes for product development. Your key deliverable will be to ensure that formulations meet the profile and cost parameters provided by the Marketing teams, while also fostering innovation in product delivery and ingredient sourcing.

Requirements

• Industry experience in food chemistry, agriculture, or nutrition (Internships are acceptable).
• Master's degree in Food Science or similar.
• A Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience is also acceptable.
• Prior experience in Statistics.

Nice To Haves

• Proven exposures in scouting new technologies, ingredient assessments, formula and delivery form design, and product profile design.
• Progressive experiences in formulation design from bench top development to pilot scale up through manufacturing/commercialization.
• Strong communication skills with talent to work both independently and with a team, as well as cross-culturally.
• Customer-focused mindset demonstrating support for competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional team to design, develop, and optimize food products.
• Lead focus groups to ensure wide product appeal.
• Lead the innovation and technology assessment of new ingredients and processes for product development.
• Review scientific literature and conduct experiments to evaluate the stability, efficacy, and safety of formulations.
• Collaborate with internal manufacturing plants or co-manufacturers for successful transfer and scale-up of formulations.
• Prepare and present technical reports, documents, and presentations to support product development and regulatory submissions.
