About The Position

The Supervisor of Associate Relations is responsible for leading the Associate Relations team as assigned to ensure compliance with corporate policies, programs and applicable collective bargaining agreements to mitigate risk to the Company and provide for the fair and consistent treatment of associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred or related course of study .
  • Minimum of 5 years previous working experience in a Human Resource field.
  • Prior experience in managing a team both locally and remotely preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR laws and applicable local and federal guidelines
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Prior experience with unions and the Collective Bargaining process preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sr. Supervisor of Associate Relations and Absence with directing Associate Relations activities to mitigate risk and litigation avoidance for the Company.
  • Supervise employment law compliance and compliance to regulatory concerns.
  • Provide useful and strategic advice and input across the Company.
  • Provide overall direction and support for Associate Relations team members as assigned; monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Maintain Associate Relations Database to track activity, understand trends and to manage caseload.
  • Assist Sr. Supervisor with creating and maintaining well defined metrics in areas as assigned to measure the efficacy of Associate Relations processes.
  • Provide analysis on complaint information to identify opportunities for training and improvements on manager/associate interactions.
  • Share information with People Team Business Partners regarding key findings.
  • Maintain the utmost confidentiality in dealing with associate records and business information.
  • Advise management regarding human resource related issues or concerns including, but not limited to, performance management, employment status, conflict resolution, sexual harassment, and fair equitable treatment of associates.
  • Act as point of contact for policy owners as related to the Company manual.
  • Facilitate conversations to update policies and perform ongoing maintenance as assigned.
  • Consult with internal legal department to ensure conformity with any applicable legal requirements.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are administered fairly, consistently and within legal guidelines.
  • Maintain close working relationship with Legal department on legal issues, contracts and judicial pronouncements relative to risk management.
  • Participate in legal depositions and preparation meetings as Corporate Designee as needed.
  • Manage a caseload of Investigations, CRP, and Consults; as needed to support the Associate Relations team.
  • Investigate, document and organize facts and data while maintaining confidentiality and integrity on all associate relation issues such as sexual harassment, performance management opportunities, discrimination, bullying, associate conflict, and consultations in a timely manner as assigned.
  • Provide back up support of the Step 3 Conflict Resolution Process, including the meeting with the Step 3 Conflict Resolution panel.
  • Participate in the meeting in an advisory role for guidance on policy and practice as it relates to the case.
  • Provide overall guidance and support for projects as assigned to drive process improvements in how the Associate Relations team works.
  • Maintain relationships with People Team Business Partners to identify and communicate trends.
  • Recommend and support learning opportunities to assist Operations Management in self-development and career advancement.
  • Support Learning and Delivery team to deliver training via instructor led and virtual training sessions.
  • Conduct store visits as appropriate and necessary.
