About The Position

The Associate Regional Director represents the regional office in carrying out the regional function to ensure good Young Life ministry in that region, while knowing and upholding all Young Life policies and procedures. This position includes job recruitment throughout the Region, participation in planning Region-wide events, and overseeing school season camping in Louisiana.

Requirements

  • Completion of Core Training — Phase One.
  • Ability to supervise at a distance.
  • Proven spiritual leader.
  • Proven leadership in developing diverse staff and ministries.
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Potential and capacity to function as a regional director.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Development: Follow Jesus through prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth, and church relationships.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Ensure all Young Life ministry in the region is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer.
  • Leadership Development: Assist regional director in casting vision for reaching 'every kid' within the region.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and place staff within the region.
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate staff, providing necessary resources and experiences.
  • Conduct assignments or events as assigned by the regional director.
  • Resource Development: Help areas develop committees and communicate regularly with committee and TDS chairs.
  • Develop and lead the region’s fundraising strategy.
  • Raise necessary funds to carry out the regional ministry vision.
  • Coordinate and conduct quality events reflecting Young Life’s capacity to impact kids.
  • Direct Ministry: Assist in the development of new areas and identify interested adults.
  • Visit areas as needed, including routine and emergency crisis visits.
  • Maintain ministry contact with kids as necessary.
  • Ministry Support: Maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
  • Develop a system for reporting and expense report responsibilities.
  • Set yearly strategic ministry plan growth and initiatives.
