About The Position

The Associate Regional Administrator for Permanency Services at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is responsible for overseeing the provision of comprehensive child welfare services within the region. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related human services field, business administration, or a juris doctorate.
  • Four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW, or five years with a master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience managing or conducting child welfare casework services.
  • Experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization.
  • Experience providing professional consultation regarding program services and casework issues.

  • 5 years of experience managing child welfare casework services.
  • 3 years of experience supervising professional staff.
  • 3 years of experience overseeing a large program with multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates, designs, and directs the implementation of policies and procedures regarding regional permanency services.
  • Directs, plans, and manages regional permanency programs, providing expertise and oversight of services and systems.
  • Serves as a full line supervisor for Area Administrators and Permanency Team Supervisors.
  • Represents the Department before other state and federal agencies, private organizations, elected officials, courts, and lay groups regarding child welfare issues.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position.
