Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia, is seeking a full-time Associate Rector to help lead our growing, historic parish into an exciting new chapter of its life. This position is ideal for a priest eager to contribute meaningfully to all areas of church leadership. While the Associate Rector will share in all aspects of parish life, they will take a leadership role in either children, youth, and young adult ministries or pastoral care and outreach, depending on their interests and skills. Additionally, this role offers opportunities for leadership, managerial responsibilities, and administrative experience. We are looking for someone who is joyful, prayerful, curious, and creative. The ideal candidate must be an excellent preacher and confident in presiding over worship in a variety of settings. As we work closely as a team, we need a collaborative team player with a good sense of humor—it will go a long way in this environment. Our ideal candidate has prior ordained leadership experience in the Episcopal Church. However, newly ordained clergy with significant parish leadership experience in other capacities will also be considered. This full-time position is designed for someone ready to invest deeply in the life of our vibrant community.
