About The Position
This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Under the general supervision of the Senior Real Estate Officer (Supervisor) of the Real Property Services Section, the Associate Real Estate Officer performs independent analysis, reviews appraisals and acquisitions, performs due diligence, acquires, sells and leases real property for the Department of General Services and other state agencies, in accordance with the Real Estate Services Section Policy and Procedures Manual, State Administrative Manual, and various state and federal codes and regulations as guidelines. The work is initiated by both external and internal requests such as those from the Department of Finance, client agencies, local agencies, private sector, and special legislation.
