This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Under general supervision of the Supervising Real Estate Officer in the Real Estate Leasing & Planning Section within the Asset Management Branch, the Associate Real Estate Officer position is responsible for working independently to perform complex tasks related to leasing activities of real estate property to meet the diverse needs of the State of California agencies as a Landlord and a Tenant in accordance with applicable State Law, State Policy, Department of General Services (DGS) policies and procedures, best real estate business practices, Government Code, State Administrative Manual, utilizing Lease Rate Guidelines, on-line tools such as Co-Star, DGS Price Book, Loopnet, CRUISE and personal computer. This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. This position may be downgraded to Real Estate Officer for recruitment purposes. If downgraded, duties will be adjusted accordingly.
