Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with no assistance.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines; self-directed, effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Experience with equipment operation including Centrifuge, Titrator, Brix Hunter, Color Desiccator, Moisture oven, Blenders, Colloid Mill, Lightning Mixer, Viscometer, Brookfield Viscometer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide samples to Solina’s Foodservice, Retail, and Industrial customers.
  • Manage incoming raw material from the plant, blending (seasoning, sauce and dressings) and shipping of samples and documentation of activities.
  • Follow all blending procedures for fulfilling sample requests for internal and external customers including the recording of lot numbers.
  • Assure a clean, safe and organized R&D lab.
  • Maintain raw material ingredient/packaging supply for the lab by ordering ingredients from the plant and documenting the material lot numbers for traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sample department lab, and clean equipment as required.
  • Maintain labeling, storage and handling of raw materials for allergen compliance in the lab.
  • Clean the refrigerators and freezers.
  • Provide support for the analytical testing results and provide information to the technologist.
  • Maintain other records for internal needs as required.
  • Process shipping/receiving paperwork online for FedEx, or UPS shipments, including tracking of shipments to support the lab.
  • Calibrate equipment and instruments.
  • Wash, sanitize, dry and store dishes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager.
