Requirements

  • Read, understand, and refer to engineering documents/drawings and other technical documentation.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytic skills
  • Documentation skills
  • High school diploma
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • One to two years’ quality inspector experience

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve/reject any incoming materials by comparing them against the specifications, production schedules, inventory records, pull lists, bills of materials, and work instructions.
  • Perform Quality Gate inspections by examining in-process production and following the criteria stated in the Checkmate. Document inspection results in Checkmate and complete checklists.
  • Analyze the documented data to calculate the department performance ranking and other Key Performance Indicators.
  • Effectively communicate quality data and results with colleagues, Team Leads, Quality Engineer, Run Test Supervisor and Quality Manager.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities like on-the-job training, seminars, and technical publications.
  • Job knowledge topics include brazing, welding, plumbing, electrical, and overall product functionality.
  • Assist in the development, standardization, and implementation of work instructions and training. Take the steps necessary to streamline the work instructions' implementation process.
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
