About The Position

Full understanding of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes and all supporting systems associated with cGMP compliance, to include testing products and raw materials for chemical content and providing technical/chemical information to Company customers, suppliers and staff. Validates the proper blending and repackaging of chemical products with emphasis on conformance to standards for release to available inventory; provides quality control for bulk and chemical products; and prepares solutions and reagents as needed. Lead the HACCP team and conduct monthly Food Safety meetings.

Requirements

  • College degree in Chemistry or equivalent chemical laboratory experience
  • One to three years’ experience in the preparation of chemical products
  • Must be able to work under Company policies where experience and independent judgment are needed.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of chemical products, repackaging process, familiar with State and Federal labeling requirements, and ability to prepare special chemical products.
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements as it pertains to FDARP (FDA Regulated Products) as applicable to the facility, a solid background in SOP management and technical writing skills, and compliance to the food safety programs, specifically BRC.
  • Should have initiative, sense of urgency and understanding regarding the impact of changes to prosses steps and revisions.
  • Must be able to operate and work with laboratory equipment.
  • Must be able to work with and secure the cooperation of others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares chemical solutions and special reagents to specifications for resale.
  • Checks samples and ensures quality control for all bulk chemical shipments to be stored in Company’s bulk storage facilities.
  • Maintains control on chemical inventory used in repackaging process including 3rd party storage facilities.
  • Provides technical knowledge to the Commercial team and customers regarding special chemical products and related matters as needed.
  • Conducts experimental work with new chemicals and potential products; makes recommendations to management for adoption.
  • Keeps informed of new equipment and developments in the repackaging of chemicals.
  • Keeps employees informed of and directs Company’s safety program within assigned area; provides for the maintenance and protection of Company equipment.
  • Adheres to company quality processes, as applicable.
  • Assists to resolve product quality issues in an efficient and timely manner, as applicable.
  • Prepares and submits reports as directed.
