About The Position

The position involves providing supervised clinical social work services to adults, children, and families facing emotional and/or social problems. The role utilizes established psychotherapeutic techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and requires consultation and collaboration with family members and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial interviews with members to understand the psychological and social meaning of their complaints and symptoms.
  • Recommend a course of action such as beginning therapy or counseling based on the member's presentation.
  • Provide clinical case management services to adults, adolescents, and children, selecting appropriate treatment modalities.
  • Render immediate guidance and therapeutic services to help individuals and families cope with emotional crises or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Maintain written records of therapy or counseling sessions and prepare reports and letters concerning patients.
  • Provide telephone counseling, resource information, and referral services.
  • Participate in departmental or locational project assignments and activities such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Provide psycho-education for members in the context of a prescribed treatment.
