As a truly comprehensive solutions provider, BWF has a team of consultants with extensive background and experience in every facet of philanthropy. As a Director of Prospect Development, you will deliver prospect development consulting for clients in healthcare and academic medicine, higher education, and other nonprofit sectors. You will provide solution-driven counsel, develop high-quality client deliverables, and collaborate with BWF colleagues to ensure recommendations are actionable and tailored to client context. Client deliverables typically include, but are not limited to: assessments and recommendations related to prospect development programs (i.e., prospect analytics, identification, management, and research); training and coaching for individuals on prospect development skills and techniques; and prospect development policy builds and process documentation. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of fundraising and a strong foundation in prospect development practices, with experience in both healthcare and higher education preferred. You will rely heavily on project management experience, ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, and proactive time management skills. The ability to innovate and pursue continuous improvement, exercise initiative and independent judgment, own day-to-day execution of assigned workstreams, and maintain strong accountability for deliverable quality is essential. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to engage with clients effectively. You will also contribute to BWF’s visibility through regular writing, speaking, and participation in industry communities.
