Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Propulsion Engineer or Propulsion Engineer. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Promontory, Magna, or Clearfield, Utah. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Propulsion Systems business group.

Requirements

  • This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2.
  • Basic qualifications for a Propulsion Engineer 1 are a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Basic qualifications for a Propulsion Engineer 2 are a Master's Degree.
  • A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria.
  • The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Nice To Haves

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, or test of one or more moderately complex materials (including energetics), structural components, and control systems for propulsion systems.
  • Apply engineering principles, industry standards, company standards and customer requirements to develop propulsion systems (electric, solid/liquid fuel rocket, air-breathing, thrusters) for application in launch vehicles, missile systems, and space mission systems.
  • Coordinate strategy for developing and leveraging multi-disciplinary design, optimization, and analysis processes to support mission requirements.
  • Define and coordinate the conduct of testing required to evaluate design work.
