About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates or entry-level engineers to begin or grow their careers. Based in Cranberry Township, PA, the role involves playing a key part in the design, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of datalink and networking solutions for Ovation control systems. The engineer will collaborate with global teams, project partners, and customers to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that support safe, efficient, and innovative operations across North America and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Willingness and ability to ability to travel up to 20%
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methods
  • A problem-solver’s mindset, with the ability to analyze information and think creatively to find solutions
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PLC manufacturers and other DCS vendors
  • Experience troubleshooting networks and Cisco devices
  • CCNP or CCNA
  • Knowledge of Ovation networks or architecture

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level technical support for datalink configuration, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Design, implement, and support datalink solutions that communicate with the Ovation control system, including associated network architecture and device connectivity.
  • Analyze datalink and network performance to identify trends, prevent systemic issues, and recommend improvements that enhance availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve datalink and network issues, researching and recommending software or hardware enhancements when needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in current and future third-party communication protocols and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with project, proposal, product development, and field service teams, as well as customers to ensure effective execution and clear technical communication.
  • Support the creation and improvement of tools, standards, and processes for datalink configuration and testing.
  • Gather and interpret customer technical specifications to determine optimal datalink implementations aligned with Ovation standards.
  • When required, travel to customer sites to support commissioning or troubleshooting of datalink-related equipment (20% travel).
