About The Position

As an Associate Project Manager for New Installation at Schindler, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of urban life by supporting construction projects from post-contract execution to close-out. Your responsibilities will include project support, financial monitoring, compliance with payroll and permits, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion, contributing to Schindler's legacy of making places more accessible and sustainable.

Requirements

  • Relevant Associate's Degree, BA, BS, or Construction Management degree; work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in a related industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Lotus Notes, and project management software like Procore.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with construction projects, post contract execution to ensure timely and budget-compliant close-out.
  • Review and book projects within one week of award, alerting the Manager of any potential completion date risks and providing action plans.
  • Support the Superintendent and engineering to resolve technical tasks, ensuring adherence to fulfillment protocols.
  • Prepare and send submittal packages to customers, review returned submittals, and provide necessary communication to Project Manager.
  • Support with submitting closeout documents to the customer and coordinating project turnover to the Service Department.
  • Monitor job financial performance, track invoice collections, bad debt and process progress payments.
  • Facilitate with project scope, prepare change order paperwork, and track changes in SAP to ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure projects are invoiced and achieve 90% - 95% payment before elevator turnover.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll, including tracking worker hours, wages, and fringe benefits in accordance with prevailing wage laws.
  • Coordinate the delivery of approved submittals and materials from vendors to ensure readiness before project start.
  • Submit required permits or certificates as mandated by local codes or authorities; prepare M/W/DBE paperwork.
  • Order and provide insurance certificates to customers, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and Schindler requirements for quality, performance, and passenger safety.
  • Influence installation scheduling and manpower to meet budget commitments.
