Project management team members work closely with distribution engineering and grid leadership to deliver high quality outcomes while helping shape the future of a growing distribution organization.The TeamBlack & Veatch’s Technology, Industrial & Governments (TIG) group supports clients across fast‑growing, technology‑driven markets, including advanced manufacturing, generative AI computing, data centers, gigafactories, bio/ag tech, and distributed infrastructure.   The Distribution Project Management Team partners closely with distribution engineering leadership and grid leadership to deliver work for investor-owned utilities and other clients nationwide. The team values collaboration, accountability, client partnership, and a shared commitment to delivering high quality results while building for the future.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of project management or project support experience in electrical distribution engineering or related infrastructure work.
  • Experience supporting utility, distribution engineering, EPC, or infrastructure‑related projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams, including engineering and technical staff
  • Experience supporting client‑facing projects or workstreams
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with BV Project Managers, engineering teams, clients, and internal stakeholders to support project commitments
  • Track schedules, deliverables, and action items, proactively identifying risks and issues and escalating as appropriate
  • Demonstrate strong personal ownership, accountability, and follow through on assigned responsibilities
  • Operate effectively in a fast‑moving environment where processes and structures continue to evolve
  • Support delivery of assigned distribution projects, portfolios, or program workstreams under the direction of a Project Manager
  • Support schedule management, cost tracking and scope coordination for assigned projects or workstreams
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day client contact for assigned tasks or workstreams, supporting strong working relationships
  • Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams including engineering, project managers, and other project staff
  • Support delivery across multiple projects or workstreams, with opportunities to learn from and support senior Project Managers
  • Partner with distribution engineering and grid leadership on day‑to‑day execution, coordination, and resource needs
  • Support proposal efforts, planning activities, and client engagements commensurate with experience level
  • Operate as a hands‑on contributor in a fast-paced, growth environment supporting services‑based and programmatic distribution work
