About The Position

Our client is a leading global Consultancy renowned for delivering high-profile, complex, iconic, large-scale capital projects. They are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Associate Project Controls Director for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to this landmark project that is poised to deliver transformative impacts across economic, transportation, and environmental sustainability. The Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This milestone project is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history. This role is part of a mission that aligns with the client's purpose: to create responsible places that bring transformative impact to their people, communities, and societies.

Requirements

  • Degree in either civil engineering or project management
  • Expert knowledge of PMO and project controls tools, techniques and software.
  • Practical knowledge/application and understanding of the opportunities related to data analytics and intelligent reporting, Power BI and other reporting suite tools.
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Tunneling experience
  • Experience in Federal Transit Agency projects
  • Familiarity with transit agencies (Such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, Amtrak)
  • Experience in delivery in programs or portfolios of significant value >$1bn is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the PMO and project controls services performance on assigned commissions.
  • Manage and direct clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all PMO and project controls management matters.
  • Act as the PMO and project controls subject matter expert on assigned projects, programs, and portfolios.
  • Lead and direct the project team in the administration of the PMO and project controls process, particularly with respect to the cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting to achieve key objectives and the escalation of performance and management issues.
  • Lead and direct the development and management of the baseline (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and the subsequent delivery performance, change and contingency monitoring including the delivery of quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
  • Ensure all activities/operations are carried out in line with client requirements and prevailing legislation.
