Requirements

  • This position requires a Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of (as gained through academic coursework, internships or prior work experience) of the following: structural analysis software such as ETABs, SAP, RISA, RAM, or SAFE; and mechanics of materials and structural performance.
  • Ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation, and if applicable, an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks in steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures.
  • Assist with new design, evaluation, investigation, and design of repairs for new and existing buildings.
  • Perform engineering calculations based on building code requirements as well as assist in the preparation of calculations packages and structural drawings sets.
  • Provide evaluation of documents in insurance claims.
  • Assist senior staff in onsite investigations to document existing conditions and determine root of problems.
  • Aid senior staff during the construction administration phase of projects.
  • Manage the preparation of drawings and specifications.
  • Assist senior staff in report writing and preparation for structural investigations and litigation support.
