The Associate Program Director at Galen College of Nursing plays a crucial role in overseeing the operational success of nursing programs. This position involves collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to ensure a high-quality educational experience, focusing on student retention, satisfaction, and program compliance with regulatory standards. The Associate Program Director will also be responsible for administrative duties, faculty management, and curriculum oversight, contributing to the overall mission of delivering excellence in nursing education.

  • Provide oversight and direction to applicants, enrolled students, faculty, and staff.
  • Monitor program completion, retention, and student satisfaction data.
  • Collaborate with retention and readmission committees to foster student success.
  • Oversee the admissions process for new and readmission applicants.
  • Administer discipline and conflict resolution among program employees and students.
  • Ensure adequate faculty coaching and mentoring for students.
  • Participate in graduation ceremonies and Student Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring of program faculty and staff.
  • Review curriculum regularly to ensure proper content is taught.
  • Facilitate nationally-normed exam testing for program students.
  • Construct class schedules and assign clinical sites and responsibilities for faculty.
  • Evaluate quality of instruction and classroom environment through observations.
  • Assess adequacy of testing and student performance on the NCLEX®.
  • Master's degree in nursing required; doctoral degree preferred.
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in applicable state.
  • Three years of recent clinical experience required.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret learning experience needs of students.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills for data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Experience in nursing education administration.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements for nursing programs.
  • Skills in conflict resolution and mediation.
