About The Position

The Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Associate Professor in the tenure stream. The position is available immediately and requires a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, data science, bioinformatics, or a related field with experience in designing multi-center clinical research studies as well as managing and analyzing data from these studies, including randomized clinical trials and observational studies. The successful Candidate will be part of a research group involved in designing, coordinating, and analyzing multi-center clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. The individual would be expected to have an independent funding track-record as a PI in the design, management, and data analysis of multi-center clinical research studies, specifically randomized clinical trials and/or longitudinal observational studies. In addition, a successful Candidate should have experiences teaching graduate level epidemiology and biostatistics courses, supervising students and staff, preparing data reports, and writing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts. This individual will also be expected to assist the department with teaching by lecturing in courses and mentoring students. This position is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health and other funding organizations. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, data science, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing multi-center clinical research studies.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing data from these studies, including randomized clinical trials and observational studies.

Responsibilities
