About The Position

Applications are invited for a 12-month, tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor within the Program of Audiology in the University of Louisville School of Medicine. This is a full-time position beginning August 1, 2026, with an earlier or later start date negotiable. Compensation is commensurate with background and experience and includes a competitive benefits package. Total compensation may also include laboratory space and a comprehensive start up package as well as specific and specialized support for a candidate’s research program.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in Audiology or a related field. ABD will be considered pending completion of degree requirements by their start date.
  • Experience with successful graduate teaching.

  • Excellence in University teaching.
  • Interprofessional/collaborative/interdisciplinary research. Specific areas of interdisciplinary collaborative research interest at UofL include neuroscience, cancer research, genomics, and environmental health-related research.
  • Current extramural funding (i.e., through grant-funded research).
  • Teaching and or clinical experience/expertise in amplification.
  • Other areas of desired expertise include genetics, central auditory processing, and practice management; however, all areas of teaching/clinical experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching: 2-4 courses annually. Courses available to be taught are flexible based on the experience and interests of the individual.
  • Research: The candidate should have an independent line of programmatic research, with at least one publication annually. Existing or potential for extramural funding will strengthen the application.
  • Service: The candidate will participate in program functions such as faculty meetings, mentoring student capstone projects, student advising, admissions, etc.
  • Clinical Service: The candidate is anticipated to provide clinical service in their area of expertise (~20%), though all candidates will be considered.
