About The Position

Holy Family University is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth founded in 1954. The University is a private institution in the Catholic tradition with campus locations in Philadelphia and Newtown PA. The main campus is nestled in the heart of a historic residential neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia that is vibrant and just minutes from the excitement of Center City. Our community is strong because of this. The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology, with a start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in graduate teaching and be enthusiastic about engaging students in interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary issues. The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching higher education. Although the area of specialization is open, the department seeks a candidate who will be able to teach classes in the Master's in Counseling Psychology program which delivers courses in-person in the evenings, online synchronous, and in fully online asynchronous. It is expected that the successful candidate will maintain a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a PsyD or PhD degree in psychology (or a closely related field).
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  • Previous teaching experience 3-5 years

Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses within the Masters of Counseling Psychology Program. There is strong interest in candidates who are able to teach courses in Research Method and Cognitive Behavior Therapy
  • Maintaining academic excellence in the classroom
  • Advising and mentoring students in the Masters of Counseling Psychology program
  • Sustaining an active research and scholarship agenda
  • Participation in school- and university-wide committees, initiatives, and other service opportunities
