About The Position

This is a full-time faculty position at the Associate Professor level in the clinical educator track within the Division of Nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The role requires individuals to be board certified or board eligible in the subspecialty of nephrology, possessing recognized expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research. Responsibilities include providing care to private patients in an outpatient clinic setting, with potential service in continuity clinics at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The position also involves inpatient consult coverage across multiple hospital venues, weekend on-call services, and attending to dialysis units. Additionally, the faculty member will engage in educational and training activities for nephrology and medicine programs, teaching fellows, residents, and medical students during conferences, in clinics, and in inpatient and dialysis units as necessary.

Requirements

• MD Degree and ACGME US Internal Medicine Internship and Residency.
• Completed 2-year ACGME US Nephrology Fellowship.
• Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology (or board eligible).
• Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing).
• Valid DEA licensure.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of US ACGME 2-year nephrology fellowship.
• Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Care for private patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
• Provide coverage for inpatient consults and concurrent care at Jackson Memorial Hospital and University of Miami Hospital.
• Care for dialysis patients on contracted dialysis units.
• Participate in evening, weekend, and holiday call as assigned.
• Teach residents, fellows, and medical students as necessary.
• Manage a proportionate level of outpatient clinics at UHealth locations.
