The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an Associate Professor - Medical Director of Fetal Cardiology to provide strategic medical leadership and direction for operations across clinical care, research, and education. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding clinical care and advancing the field of fetal cardiology through research, mentorship, and education of team members. The Medical Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining clinical and outreach operations that align with the mission and values of Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). This position emphasizes an organized, effective, innovative, and quality-oriented approach to service delivery. The Medical Director will champion the Quadruple Aim and CHCO initiatives, focusing on quality, safety, and enhancing both patient and provider experiences. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Heart Institute and Colorado Fetal Care Center leadership teams to develop and operationalize growth strategies and priorities. This includes driving the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty, ensuring physician coverage of clinical services, and directing the efficient management of provider schedules to maximize resources, access, and patient satisfaction. The role also involves partnering with service line leadership, physician relations, and business development to create and promote outreach education and visits aimed at expanding market share and enhancing the program's regional and national reputation. Participation in quarterly regional outreach trips to promote and grow the fetal cardiology program is also expected. Additionally, the Medical Director will develop, implement, and ensure compliance with appropriate clinical standards and best practices, which may include the creation of clinical pathways, algorithms, or protocols applicable to the patient population served. The role requires active participation in and championing of continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the organization.
