The University of Arkansas at Little Rock invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Associate or Assistant Professor of Applied Communication. This position supports the department’s curricular and community-engaged mission by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Organizational Communication, Crisis Communication (with expertise in Discourse of Renewal), Leadership, Training & Development, and Research Methods, as well as teaching in the university’s core curriculum (COMM 10073: Introduction to Communication). Teaching will occur in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive communication orientation, a collaborative student-centered working style, and a commitment to applied scholarship consistent with the department’s mission of helping individuals and organizations co-create better social worlds. The position includes maintaining an active research agenda; engaging in community-based or organizational partnerships that connect crisis and organizational communication to real-world practice; advising and mentoring students; and serving on departmental, college, university, and community committees.
