About The Position

The Associate Production Controller will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components through the production process to meet scheduled deadlines. They coordinate with internal suppliers and internal teams to resolve delays, address bottlenecks, and expedite the delivery of materials when necessary. As an Associate Production Controller, you will ultimately be responsible for ensuring all scheduled builds are completed on-time and delivered to their respective customer. The role involves monitoring production schedules, tracking work-in-progress, adjusting timelines as needed, and ensuring completed units are delivered and staged for pickup. Additionally, Associate Production Controllers ensure that production targets are met, minimizing downtime and maintaining efficiency across the production line.

Requirements

  • Education: An associate’s degree or higher is required (or equivalent experience / certifications).
  • Experience: 2+ years of previous demonstrated excellence in a manufacturing, production, or logistics environment is required with a preference for experience in production planning or inventory management.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously within set timelines, and maintain attention to detail is important.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with manufacturing processes, production scheduling software, and inventory management systems (e.g., ERP / MRP systems) is required.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, suppliers, and vendors to resolve issues and keep production on track.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a defense and/or manufacturing startup environment.
  • APICS certification desired.
  • Deltek Costpoint familiarity desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Production Schedules: Track and update the status of ongoing production processes, ensuring that timelines are met and materials are available when needed to avoid delays.
  • Prevent Stoppages: Communicate between cross-functional teams to expedite the delivery of materials, track any shortages to resolution, and highlight incoming production blockers.
  • Resolve Bottlenecks and Adjust Timelines: Identify and address potential production delays, adjusting schedules or reallocating resources to maintain smooth operations and minimize downtime.
  • Satisfy Customers: Ensure the delivery of completed end-items to their staging location for internal customer pickup, testing, and evaluation.
