About The Position

We are looking for an Associate Product Validation Engineer who will be responsible for assisting & supporting senior level validation engineers. Assignments involve engineering assistance, problem resolution, & other engineering duties in support of vehicle level design verification (DV) and production validation (PV) tests. This is a hands-on, on-site role at our Livermore, CA plant reports to the Manager of Validation but may also receive direction and guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
  • Familiarity with: Automotive and/or heavy-duty vehicle design
  • Familiarity with: Design of Experiments (DOE) and basic knowledge of various test equipment and instrumentation, such as DAQs, strain gauges, accelerometers, and thermal & pressure sensors
  • Familiarity with: Basic understanding of programming and/or PLC logic

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy-Duty and/or commercial vehicle experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy engineering standards for defining and managing requirements under the guidance of more senior engineers
  • Develop associated design verification (DV) and production validation (PV) test plans for new and current vehicle models, including complete traceability between requirements, test results and test reports
  • Utilize program targets, system requirements and various control documents to develop and release simple DV/PV plans, reports, recommendations
  • Execute DV/PV plans for vehicles and subsystems. Report results and collaborate with related design, systems and controls engineers to identify root cause of any failures
  • Coordinate and document requirements, design verification and validation with component/subsystem/system suppliers or external testing resources/facilities to support overall program validation plan
  • Gather and refine data sets into usable information and reports
  • Support the maintenance and calibration of test equipment and instrumentation
