About The Position

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Associate Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) to join the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This position is seeking engineers with Material Review and Disposition experience, to perform/support troubleshooting of non-conformances, RCCA technical analysis and provide solutions to non-conforming products. The position will work directly with cross-functional and production engineering teams to meet production program objectives. Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Knowledge of repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes
  • 2+ years of experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board and Integrated Product Team activities related to repairs)
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year Material Review Board Certification experience
  • 2+ years of experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years Production engineering experience with relevant technological knowledge
  • Experience in solving simple to complex problems
  • 2+ years Electrical/mechanical system knowledge, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair methodology
  • Knowledge of circuit card manufacturing, including Selective Solder and SMT
  • 2 + years Functional system level testing

Responsibilities

  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout the production lifecycle
  • Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances
  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues to develop interim and final engineering solutions
  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances
  • Participates in Material Review Boards (As Required)
  • Represents the engineering community in the production environment, providing lineside support
  • Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards
  • Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards
  • Develops and implements product/process improvements
