About The Position

The Associate Product Manager – Rug Doctor position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family owned company that is a leader in the small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of global product innovation and marketing strategy for our Rental and Rug Doctor businesses. They will work closely with other departments to launch and commercialize new products and manage our current business. This role will execute rental, ecommerce and commercial product plans inclusive of channel management, pricing, and point of purchase merchandising. This position requires experience in executing marketing programs for consumer products, and a BA/BS in marketing or related field of study. The candidate must demonstrate proven experience in consumer program development and execution, leading marketing initiatives that involve facilitating team collaboration and leading presentations to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be strategic, creative, & passionate about crafting and helping deliver an exceptional product experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Marketing or Business
  • 4+ years in consumer products
  • Experience in product development or customer marketing for consumer products
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience analyzing P&L financials
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop product strategic plans.
  • Support product roadmap execution by partnering with BHI category leaders, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to bring new floorcare solutions to market on time and on budget.
  • Lead day-to-day management of the rental and product portfolio, including product life cycle, pricing, channel strategy and in-market performance.
  • In conjunction with Sales, work with key accounts to develop and improve product line productivity, gross profit and assist in maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with sourcing, work to find appropriate product opportunities and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Oversee creation and manage maintenance of merchandising, packaging, point of purchase, digital assets, training materials, and sales tools for both product and rental lines.
  • Analyze sales, market, and competitive data to identify trends, recommend actions, and support strategic decision-making across product and commercial teams.
  • Continuously track market trends and competitive activity to inform product positioning, claims, line strategies, and innovation needs.
  • Works closely with other team members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives.
  • Be aware of the voice of the consumer on all projects to ensure that their needs are addressed. Utilize consumer insights to drive positioning, copy and claims.
  • Understand and assist in the annual plan and update development process.
  • Is available for marketing and sales projects as needed.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
