About The Position

The Associate Product Manager, Software Solutions - Audio/Video is responsible for bringing to market software solutions that enhance the company's standard display products. This position is responsible for supporting business case creation, solution development and helping achieve the group's revenue, volume, and profitability goals. They must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. The successful candidate will be able to work within a fast-paced evolving organization focused on driving and supporting evaluation, marketing, and deployment of software solutions. This role must be able to work within an agile environment and must apply the abilities to deploy agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business with a software or technology focus, or equivalent experience
  • Proven analytical, planning, and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Two to three years full-cycle software marketing/product marketing/product development experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of network and cyber security
  • Knowledge of Software OS libraries (e.g., Linux, Windows, Android) and REST API (Applications Programming Interface) experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, track and launch software products
  • Proven success working collaboratively with domestic and international cross-functional teams to deliver the right product amid established competition
  • Experience in identifying business trends, market impact and engaging internal and external customers
  • Ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong presentation skills
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) up to 20%

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with architecture framework, Docker container, Symmetric and A symmetric, is a plus
  • General understanding of solutions architecture, deployment, and scalability of software solutions
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required within six months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute successful new software solutions complementing current and future AV display products to support signage and transportation vertical markets.
  • Work closely with the Software Solution and Innovation team in Japan to bring to market innovative Software Solutions - Audio/Video to support global business.
  • Ensure the development, support and implementation of a detailed and thorough launch plan meets all critical milestones.
  • Work with vendors and the internal supply chain team to identify, source and forecast components necessary to support new solutions as well as managing those components through their lifecycle.
  • Monitor and analyze end user, product, sales, pricing, and general market segment trends.
  • Contribute to product P&L and drive development of innovative solutions aligned with the company strategy.
  • Research and analyze competitive activities including pricing, promotions, marketing strategies and product offerings to ensure that Sharp is competitive and profitable.
  • Provide ongoing training to sales teams to include detailed product information, product positioning, presentations, and other sales support materials.
  • With manager support, collaborate with Marketing Communications' team to form the company's overall communications strategy, including print and on-line advertising and participation in key industry events or tradeshows.
  • Plan and develop sales enablement tools focused on existing solutions.
  • Work on special projects outside of standard analysis as assigned by manager.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships that support sales and marketing of a product.
  • Represent product marketing in cross functional teams to develop and implement companywide initiatives.
  • Domestic and international travel 20%.
