Reporting to the Product Manager, Payment Accuracy Content Team, the Associate Product Manager of Payment Accuracy will lead our Research and Development (R&D) focus, supporting new and existing product innovation. In this role, you will act as an analytical and strategic partner between technology and business teams, serving as a subject matter expert and liaison to customers and users. You will contribute to product vision, discovery, and development; lead research and documentation efforts; and translate complex data into actionable recommendations for new product solutions and enhancements. By partnering with and providing input to the agile delivery team, you will help shape product strategy and ensure solutions are viable, scalable, measurable and successful. Role Summary As an Availity Associate Product Manager, you will lead the Payment Accuracy R&D initiative, focusing on the ideation and discovery phases of the product development and software development lifecycles. Partnering with the Innovation Product Manager and Associate Product Managers, you will help inform a comprehensive R&D strategy, identifying market opportunities, and defining overall product direction. This role will help ensure Payment Accuracy product decisions are data-informed and will drive proof-of-concept designs. This position will influence and collaborate cross-functionally to execute on the R&D vision and roadmap This position requires an understanding of the Product Management lifecycle and its relevant artifacts to ensure success. You must possess the ability to understand market opportunity and viability of product design and articulate ROI as an internal and external product champion and evangelist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer/data science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Over three years of experience in product, business, or data analysis roles, ideally within healthcare technology.
  • Healthcare background is required to be considered for the role.
  • Experience with healthcare administrative and payment systems.
  • Technical acumen with the ability to gather, describe, and document product requirements.
  • Familiarity with modern technology architectures, databases, data platforms, and analytics.
  • Advanced analytical skills; proficient in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Experience executing roadmaps and meeting deliverable timelines.
  • Worked in and are comfortable operating in a matrix organization, coordinating across multiple disciplines.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, requirement gathering, and writing user stories.
  • Experience with ANSI and X12 transactions; tools like Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for defining and delivering against the R&D roadmap.
  • Pro-actively provide input toward new and existing product solutions, incorporating a strong understanding of product vision, strategy, and customer needs.
  • Apply customer-centric and design thinking tools to gather insights and guide teams in delivering impactful solutions.
  • Identify, research, define, and document recommendations and requirements for new product solutions and enhancements.
  • Write business requirements, develop use cases, and ensure products are well documented and conform to quality standards.
  • Engage with UX/Design and focus groups (users, prospects, clients) to perform concept testing and solution design refinement.
  • Collaborate with technical teams including Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects and Analysts on solution feasibility and design.
  • Develop and monitor dashboards to track product performance and success, identify trends, and link insights to actionable business decisions.
  • Lead proof-of-concept design and innovation labs.
  • Organize and manage team and client-facing documentation.
  • Review test cases, participate in internal and client testing, and support analytics/reporting for new and existing products.
