Our team in the SDG Space Sector’s Actuation and Avionics Business Unit is looking for an Associate Product Engineer in Mechanical Product Engineering with a focus in EMAs (Electronic Mechanical Actuators). This person should be a self-starter and be able to be efficient with minimal direction. You will report to the Product Engineering Manager and are expected to be the technical point of contact in many areas. This includes proposal support, program kick-off, design reviews, qualification, and production of the hardware. The role of an Associate Product Engineer is a challenging position for someone keen to lead the development and production of space flight hardware in a cross-functional and collaborative team environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry.
  • General knowledge in the areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to Moog systems such as MBS, iWI-N, or Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver space-rated hardware to the customer.
  • Provide direction to Technicians as well as coordinate with Program Management, Quality, Project Engineering, and Design Engineering to maintain high integrity products.
  • Contribute to the analysis, design, development, and test of complex hardware used on commercial and NASA vehicles.
  • Identify and execute plans to improve cost and schedule on development and production programs.
  • Participate in failure investigations to determine root case and implement corrective actions.
  • Generate technical data, reports, and procedures for assigned programs.
  • For production programs, serve as technical focal point for internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with other Moog resources to resolve production problems and perform Material Review Board (MRB) analyses.
  • Evaluate, sustain, implement, and improve assembly & test methods, fixtures, and test equipment necessary for product delivery.
