The Space Sector of Moog's Space and Defense Group (SDG) designs and manufactures systems to survive the harsh environments of space travel. Our team in the SDG Space Sector's Actuation and Avionics Business Unit is looking for an Associate Product Engineer in the Mechanical Product Engineering group to work on both production and development programs focused on hydraulic actuators and electromechanical actuators. Reporting to the Staff Product Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the product delivery throughout the product lifecycle. This includes proposal support, program kick-off, design reviews, qualification, and production of the hardware.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute programs and deliver space-rated hardware to the customer.
  • Collaborate with other Moog resources to resolve production problems.
  • Generate technical data, reports, and procedures for hardware to meet the customer specifications.
  • Maintain performance of production hardware, resolve engineering problems, and support initiatives to improve quality, reduce cost, and reduce lead-time.
  • Participate in failure investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide direction to Technicians as well as coordinate with Program Management, Quality, Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and others to maintain high integrity products.
  • Evaluate, sustain, implement, and improve assembly & test methods, fixtures, and test equipment necessary for product delivery.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
