Then you’ll have success on our Design team who owns the design and development of all Target-owned brands, from apparel to home goods, and beauty to essentials. In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring that our products meet the merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction. As an Associate Designer, you will support Home Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders to achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Key product categories include home textiles (bedding, toss & throw, soft home, and gifting.) You will be expected to maintain a diligent and self-directed approach to workload, and provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external partners. You will support the team in product/trend research, trend concepts, product vignettes, color, and design/development of products. You will also assist the team in preparing product specs, and developing trim, print, and embellishment packages. In addition, you’ll translate ideas using CAD/hand sketches. This includes completing design/technical sketches and professional presentation boards/materials for meetings, and vendor partners. You will also work closely with the Technical Design department, working together to communicate fit and construction details. Requirements

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area of study, or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
• Interest in AI design skills
• Ability to stay aware of Trends and Fashion
• Understanding of textiles or raw materials & product production
• Experience assimilating product feedback
• Ability to research and apply market/trend information
• Ability to build strong partnerships in order to successfully work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Support Home Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders to achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives.
