This role in summary, Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidates for an Associate, Procurement opening to join our Global Strategic Sourcing organization. The role will be at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, MI. This role is onsite 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will possess the right balance of strategic thought leadership, analytics, and operational excellence to optimize results for Whirlpool Corporation. A highly visible role working closely with business leaders, supply chain operations, and procurement to analyze, develop, and drive category sourcing strategy and respective initiatives to deliver breakthrough results in terms of cost savings, free cash flow, and supply base rationalization. Today, you might be performing detailed industry and supplier analytics. Tomorrow, you might be identifying cost and quality opportunities that leverage Whirlpool's global scale. Depending on the project, you will perform as both a team member or initiative leader to implement these projects. You can count on the fact that your work will support major business decisions with potential for exposure at highest leadership levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support disciplined sourcing methods within Global Strategic Sourcing - supply base management, contract negotiations, supplier issue resolution, cost reduction project management, purchase order creation and management
  • Identify, negotiate, and recommend sourcing of LTL (less than truckload), Fleet, Truckload, and other services; as well as, manage price and contract terms and conditions over their lifecycle
  • Total cost analytics on certain assigned sub commodities or services to achieve best cost, quality, and delivery
  • Drive and deliver strategic objectives through strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Quickly and effectively respond and resolve day-to-date operational supply base challenges; developing procurement and leadership skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Engineering, or Supply Chain
