About The Position

The Associate Process Engineer will lead and support new tooling start-ups and process qualifications. This role will identify, plan, coordinate, train, and execute molding processes and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and overall productivity. Additional responsibilities also include evaluating and selecting new materials, conducting material sampling, and assessing press capacity to support production needs.

Requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Master Molder (e.g., RJG Scientific Molding) or equivalent certification, or willingness to begin certification within the first year of employment.
  • Required: Five years of experience in injection or blow molding. Proficient with production software systems.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively, lead teams, maintain confidentiality, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Effective communicator in English (verbal, written, listening); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficient in technical writing, interpreting regulations, and managing multiple projects.
  • Experienced in customer service, product launches, and equipment installations.
  • Skilled in using PCs and related software; advanced knowledge of automation, plastic injection/blow molding, assembly, packaging, and engineering diagrams.
  • Willingness to travel for external training.
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 90% of the shift
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently bend and twist and have unrestricted use of upper extremities.
  • Push/Pull up to 200 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Associates degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering or Plastics Technology or related field.
  • Preferred: Silicone, blow molding, injection molding, and two-shot molding experience. Prior experience using Solid Works and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal process setup of molding machinery and peripheral equipment.
  • Ensure high efficiency production and equipment manufacturing.
  • Provide samples of new products, equipment, materials, and colors.
  • Create and implement mold change work instructions to standardize quick mold change methods and techniques.
  • Perform Design of Experiments (D.O.E.) on new products to optimize process and review tool designs for productivity.
  • Provide molding equipment operation and process training in injection silicone, blow molding, injection molding, and two-shot molding.
  • Develop and deliver structured training programs for molding processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Support cross-training initiatives to build team versatility and improve operational flexibility.
  • Attend and contribute to mold design reviews.
  • Ability to provide supervisory backup for weekend coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
