Lazard’s Private Capital Advisory Group (“PCA”) is a global leader in raising private capital and executing secondary transactions for investment managers. PCA interacts primarily with institutional investors (sovereign wealth funds, public funds, corporate pension funds, foundations/endowments, financial institutions, and asset managers). One PCA business line is Real Asset Fund Placement, which advises primarily infrastructure and real estate funds seeking to raise private capital. The team is experienced in working with both equity- and debt-focused managers across a range of investment vehicles, including closed and open-end funds, private REITs, and programmatic joint ventures. Our deal teams typically consist of 3-4 PCA professionals, comprised of an Analyst, Associate, Vice President or Director, and a Managing Director. PCA is seeking to hire an Associate for its Real Asset business to focus on Transaction Management. This person will play an important role as a Transaction Management team member alongside senior bankers supporting deal management activities primarily for North American based clients. The position will be based in New York and require periodic travel.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant full-time work experience (investment banking, corporate finance, investment, or management consulting is strongly preferred)
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, with expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing skills required for marketing materials
  • Proven academic excellence with excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with a high-level of responsiveness, accuracy, and work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both to PCA deal teams and external clients
  • Organized and confident communication style internally and externally; ability to seamlessly manage senior client interaction
  • Capacity to multi-task and to manage multiple elements of a fund raising

Nice To Haves

  • Infrastructure or real estate experience preferred, but not necessary

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of marketing materials, including private placement memoranda, due diligence questionnaires, investor presentations, and responses to investor due diligence requests
  • Support several Transaction Management teams in conducting fund due diligence, preparing marketing materials and being a point of contact with clients, ideally evolving to primary contact
  • Communicate and strategize with the Distribution Team throughout the marketing process to close investor commitments
  • Manage the day-to-day workflow across deals and manage/lead communication with clients and internally
  • Work with Analysts to prepare supporting materials required for communication of fundraising information to fund manager clients; communication occurs on a daily and weekly basis and includes coordinating investor roadshows, filtering and relaying investor feedback, completing due diligence requests, and detailing the overall status of the fundraising

  • We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $185,000 - $250,000 USD.
  • Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
