About The Position

As the Temporary Associate Print Designer at Little Sleepies, you'll be at the heart of our design operations, supporting every stage from initial concept creation to final product approvals. Reporting into the Senior Art Manager, this role will help drive the print design process alongside a team of collaborative and innovative creatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design/Illustration related studies - Textile/Surface Design a plus
  • Understanding of repeat patterns and print technique
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
  • 3+ years work experience creating textiles and/or illustration, children’s experience preferred
  • Skilled and experienced in hand-drawn and painted illustration
  • Deep understanding color theory and highly developed taste level
  • Detailed oriented with strong technical and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and adherence to calendar milestones
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure of tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Growth mindset and collaborative nature
  • Ability to come into our HQ in Los Angeles, CA a minimum of 3 days/week

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Create fun, unique, innovative artwork in a variety of styles while upholding the aesthetic of the Little Sleepies brand
  • Stay current on kids apparel, print, and textile trends, with a strong understanding of what resonates with parents and children
  • Present color and concept research to Senior Design Manager and support seasonal print planning
  • Develop print layouts, repeats, and colorways of original and/or purchased artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Collaborate with a team of designers, product developers and merchants to deliver products that meet business goals and delight our customers
  • Prepare and maintain accurate print-ready millsheets for vendors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical requirements
  • Work in PDM system to create and maintain accurate print/ artwork components.
  • Support the team with design asset management both digitally and physically in HQ, managing print libraries, artwork archives, and seasonal decks.
  • Prepare artwork strike offs & lab dips for product reviews, pulling pantones and samples as reference for comments/approval.
  • Attend product meetings, reviewing print strike-offs and making adjustments as needed to ensure highest quality
  • Support administrative tasks with freelance artists and design studios.
  • Work in HQ min 3 days a week
