Translational Science and Outsourcing (TSO); a member of Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalytical (PDMB) in our Research & Development Division is seeking a highly motivated Associate Principal Scientist with a strong laboratory programming skills to enhance our automation/robotics team at West Point, PA in the area of Data management, Robotics and Laboratory Instrumentation Integration in inventing new medicines. The Robotics team's focus is streamlining our workflows by improving automation and scientific data capture, providing the foundation for our Company's translational modeling, AI/ML and decision-making platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with scientists, data scientists and robotics from across PDMB and beyond, building in-depth knowledge of the science, technology and workflows to identify and lead projects and/ or develop proof of concepts to drive improvements in the handling and application of data. They will also focus on further developing the integration of data and workflows with the broader organization establishing a broad network of scientific and IT partners. The successful candidate will have a track record of technical project management and will be part of a collaborative cross disciplinary team working closely with other research functions and our IT colleagues. This role will be located at our West Point, PA, USA research site and may involve some travel and remote work. This role will collaborate closely with our scientists, data scientists and robotics to understand and uncover needs in workflow and data capture, develop and execute upon strategy and spearhead the implementation of innovative solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with data producers, consumers and partners across PDMB to enhance our data infrastructure
  • Effectively manage complex projects from conception through completion with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Assist with troubleshooting and error recovery
  • Work with TSO Robotics to prioritize highest reward projects and shape the group's strategy
  • Experience in a lab-based setting, working with lab data capture systems, automation and equipment integration
  • Experience with scripting/programing in one or more of the following: C#, Python, JavaScript, R, R-shiny, Web Development
  • Experience integrating laboratory instruments with commercial software solutions. Equipment to equipment communication, Equipment to LIMS
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work in an entrepreneurial and independent way
  • Must be a team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience leading complex projects with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's (with 10+ years), Master's (with 6+ years) or Ph.D. (with 3+ years) in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and relevant laboratory programming / automation experience
  • Experience with Benchling, Signals commercial softwares
  • Experience with ThermoFisher Momentum, Biosero Green Button Go, HighRes Cellario robotic scheduling software's.
  • Experience with PC integration into corporate security policies
