About The Position

The anticipated opening is for a 1.0 Associate Principal at Colonie Central High School for the 2025-2026 school year. The selected candidate will take on a leadership role in administrative services that supports the instructional program. The position is set to start on July 1, 2025.

Requirements

• NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School Business Leader (SBL), or School District Leader (SDL).
• Master's Degree (30 hours or higher) with a major in educational administration.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a classroom teacher and any previous administrative experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal in providing educational leadership and overseeing overall management of the school.
• Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the instructional program to ensure ongoing improvement.
• Assist with student discipline.
• Support, follow, and recommend changes to all district policies, administrative regulations, and building procedures.
• Supervise assigned personnel.
• Develop a listing of specific job objectives and an action plan with the school Principal at the beginning of each school year.
• Review overall performance with the school Principal at mid-year and year-end regarding job responsibilities and objectives.
• Serve as a member of the Administrative Team to assist in the school's decision-making process.
• Assume responsibility for student attendance, conduct, health, and safety.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive public relations.
• Engage in continuing professional development by reading professional publications and attending seminars/conferences.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the building Principal and/or Superintendent.
