The position involves leading process equipment optimization and development within the Foods sector at PepsiCo. The role focuses on providing technical solutions for various projects aimed at enhancing capacity, innovation, productivity, and maintenance. The individual will serve as a technical liaison across multiple departments and will be responsible for developing equipment specifications, conducting validation activities, and ensuring successful equipment start-up and standardization across manufacturing plants.

  • Lead process equipment optimization and development for capacity, innovation, productivity, and maintenance projects.
  • Provide leadership in driving Foods process equipment optimization and serve as a technical liaison to supply chain operations, R&D, and procurement.
  • Develop and define Foods process equipment scope and technology to support productivity, capacity, innovation, quality, and food safety projects.
  • Identify new equipment vendors/suppliers and develop process equipment specifications.
  • Conduct process validation activities such as modeling, mass balance, and testing with external suppliers and consultants.
  • Execute pilot scope for commercialization, including the development of IP, safety, quality, operational, and performance metrics.
  • Influence capital and schedule requirements for new projects.
  • Lead equipment start-up and validate process equipment during Factory Inspection Tests, Engineering Test Runs, and Commissioning.
  • Drive equipment and process standardization and serve as a technical liaison between manufacturing plants.
  • Perform basic economic evaluations on new processes and estimate potential business value.
  • Support corporate standards and leverage industry best practices.
  • Assist in the development and update of disciplined standards and procedures.
  • Train and mentor less-experienced engineers and develop training material.
  • Conduct technical seminars to improve team member technical and project management knowledge.
  • Actively participate in and promote the use of the PFNA Engineering Community and other resources.
  • Provide input for strategic decisions and proactively identify areas of risk and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrate collaboration and communication skills to work with all levels of the organization.
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical engineering experience, preferably with process equipment.
  • Motivated, self-starter with good people and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple technical initiatives across plant locations.
  • Ability to analyze options and make fact-based, engineering data-supported recommendations.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives.
  • Knowledge of food processing equipment in RTE cereal, IQO, IQG, Pasta, and Rice cake manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with negotiation abilities.
  • Team building skills to manage and lead cross-functional teams.
