You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed. The Portfolio Analytics Associate will support the end-to-end data management, analysis, and governance of portfolio, cash flow, company event, and operating metrics data across HarbourVest platforms. This role partners closely with internal collaborators (Accounting, Tax, Client Service, Investment) and external vendors to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and integrity across systems used for reporting, analytics, and decision making. This candidate should have a strong operational approach and pay attention to detail. Be comfortable with multiple data workflows. They should also be interested in private markets operations and analytics. The ideal candidate is someone who is: Analytical and detailed oriented with a strong sense of ownership. Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to deconstruct and understand complex, end-to-end workstreams to identify key data dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in portfolio analytics, investment operations, or a related role preferably within private markets.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Bloomberg, CapIQ, Pitchbook, Power BI, Alteryx, eFront, Allvue
  • MBA or other advanced credentials are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Cash Flow Operations Complete and review foreign exchange (FX) reporting and data entry; progressively upskill to perform quality review and validation.
  • Perform secondary commitment entry and support transaction-level updates.
  • Manage onboarding data entry and analysis for new partnerships and clients.
  • Assist with Accounting, Tax, and Client Service requests, including adjustments and ad-hoc inquiries.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), enhancements, and regression testing related to system changes.
  • Maintain data governance standards through accurate data entry, validation, and correction.
  • Portfolio and Operating Metrics Support the validation and correction of portfolio and operating metrics data.
  • Manage the end-to-end administration of operating metrics (data acquisition to reporting).
  • Facilitate ad hoc requests from internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally for reporting/process enhancement.
  • Support future development initiatives (design, UAT testing, deployment) and provide business input.
  • Company Events Perform due diligence on material events (M&A, IPO, etc.) affecting constituent holdings.
  • Prepare and validate reporting related to company-level transactions and events.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests related to company activities.
  • Ensure governance controls are followed for company event data captured across systems.
  • Data Governance & Quality Assist with coordination and ongoing support of third-party service providers, help track deliverables, detect data quality problems, and bring up items as needed.
  • Adhere to data management policies, controls, and documentation.
  • Proactively identify data quality issues and partner with team members to resolve them.
