As an Associate Plant Engineer you will support activities related to the design, modification and operation of process equipment in the ethanol plant. Review the process equipment/data to improve plant operations. Coordinate with fleet engineering resources to ensure the Mechanical Integrity Program complies with company and OSHA PSM standards. Support projects from conception through completion including the development, design and execution of capital, expense and maintenance projects in a safe and efficient manner. You can help achieve this goal if you can: Support plant operations by reviewing, studying, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting the plant systems and equipment and provides recommendations. Analyze and interpret data for opportunities to improve production, efficiencies, yields and operating costs. Generate reports summarizing findings. Improve the process by coordinating changes in operations, controls, equipment, procedures, parameters, operational theory and other related items. Prepare justification, cost estimates and other project documents as required for approval. Develop technical specifications to procure equipment and services. Provide assistance with installation, startup and performance testing of multiple projects concurrently. Perform design work and other assigned tasks to ensure they are completed safely, accurately and efficiently. Coordinate with fleet engineering resources to ensure the Mechanical Integrity Program complies with OSHA PSM and provides expertise on QA/QC (i.e. ASME, API standards) requirements for new equipment and repairs to existing equipment. Support maintenance and operations as a technical resource. Support Turnaround planning and execution. Complete other requirements for compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management Regulations including but not limited to the maintenance of documentations such as MOCs, P&IDs, isometrics, and equipment specifications. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay. Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Relocation assistance is available.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in Engineering required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • In-field maintenance and operations support experience preferred.
  • Experience in ethanol production, chemical processing, food processing, oil refining, or power plant industry preferred.
