  • Perform various inspections of overhead/underground construction for compliance to company standards.
  • Advise customers & contractors of company standards relating to new and/or upgraded service requirements for secondary.
  • Provide field information for estimates, schedules & post construction costs using company provided systems.
  • Act as representative to internal/external customers on construction methods.
  • Write construction orders for both overhead/underground secondary jobs.
  • Build consensus or support for the implementation of new programs, initiatives or solutions.
  • Identify problems as they occur, analyze the context of the problems, uncover related issues, develop a recommended solution(s) for the problem and identify any problems or barriers to implementation.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to community leaders, community organizations, consultants, elected government officials, federal government regulatory agencies, industry associations, professional contacts/associations, and public relations/advertising agencies.
  • Negotiate with prospective, residential and commercial customers.
  • Participate in meeting or group discussions; provide advice and direction on products and/or services.
  • Prepare proposals, speeches, presentations, work unit policies/procedures as needed.
  • Facilitate group discussions, conduct formal presentations and participate in employee training.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred formal education level is a technical diploma or Associate's degree.
  • Satisfactory completion of high school courses in any three of the following: drafting, CAD, basic electricity, physics, and mathematics which includes geometry or fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry or technical mathematics.
  • Minimum prior job-related experience necessary is two years, but less than three years.
  • To be fully proficient, at least three years but less than five years prior job-related experience is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of CRT/keyboard usage, creative design/layout, and desktop publishing.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical illustration/computer aided design and telephone skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment performance/testing.
  • Working knowledge of complaint resolution, cross selling/recommending products, metering, product distribution, product knowledge, product pricing, service planning, service restoration, and service pricing.
  • Advanced knowledge of customer service.
  • Working knowledge of inspection.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints/drawings/schematics, electrical equipment, measuring devices, mechanical equipment, non-precision tools/instruments, and rigging/lifting.
