Under the direction of the Donor Services Supervisor, this position supports Donor Specialists, Senior Donor Specialists, and Team Leads by identifying efficient and effective ways to support a positive and quality experience for each donor through quality and safety that promotes donor experience and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • High School enrollment or active enrollment in general education program required
  • Ability to assist in problem solving required
  • Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information and/or the use of simple equipment, machines and materials. Knowledge is usually acquired through training on the job required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals required
  • Basic mathematical aptitude required
  • Ability to organize work to provide productive work flow required
  • Flexibility to work independently and with a team required
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback to peers required
  • Personal Computer (desktop, laptop, tablet) required
  • General office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine) required
  • Outlook email required
  • HemaConnect to schedule donors for next appointments (Rebooking) required
  • Title21 to read and sign off on SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) required
  • On-Site software to register donors required

Responsibilities

  • Provides Post Donation Instructions
  • Perform arm care procedure post donation
  • Monitors café and observes donors for reactions and assists staff with reactions if needed.
  • Rebooks donors for future donation appointments
  • Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image by demonstrating VWOS (Versiti Way of Serving) with every interaction
  • Performs donor registration ensuring required identification is presented and correct donor is selected and entered On-Site software
  • Recruits and converts donors for automation
  • Creates a safe environment for donors and staff members
  • Demonstrates Core Values: Do Right Always, Find a Better Way, Make Results Happen, and Strengthen the Team
  • Recognizes when the customer is distressed and responds appropriately with tact
  • Responds to customer inquiries, requests and complaints with a timely and complete response and escalates to leader when appropriate
  • Maintain work average of 8 – 10 hours a week per scheduled hours around school and extra curricular activities
  • Pack supplies and equipment for mobile drives
  • Can be appointed to escort donors (especially at High Schools) to refreshment area and assist with reaction by ensuring donor safety by guiding donor to the floor, reports incident to Team leader or Phlebotomist for donor treatment.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
