About The Position

The Associate Patient Care - Student Nurse (PCA/Student Nurse) plays an essential role in supporting our patients and care teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. In this position, you'll work directly with patients on a variety of care activities including: Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) Safely using patient handling equipment Measuring and documenting intake and output Supporting with foley and external urinary catheter care Setting up telemetry monitors, oxygen equipment, and performing blood glucose monitoring You may also assist the nursing team with clerical duties, including communication with care providers, patients, and families-both in person and by phone. Working alongside a dedicated team and under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll help achieve the best possible outcomes for every patient you serve. This is an ideal opportunity for those who are currently in nursing school or exploring a long-term career in healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
  • De-escalation training (within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a CNA, Patient Care Tech, STNA, or equivalent program, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Phlebotomy training
  • Current licensure/certification as applicable
  • 1-2 years of direct patient care and clerical experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • 6 months of nursing assistant experience OR successful completion of an STNA or PCA prep course OR student nurse experience
