About The Position

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the healthcare delivery system. This position is responsible for managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting the care team in achieving clinical and service goals. The coordinator will provide exceptional customer service, assist with appointment scheduling, and ensure compliance with organizational protocols, all while contributing to a culture of health equity and community impact.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • BLS certified (or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire)
  • 1+ years of healthcare or customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Independent means of transportation and ability to travel 10% of the time during work hours

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a health care setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles such as referrals and prior authorization
  • Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Medical office setting experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Greet patients and check them in and out, ensuring correct demographics and insurance information in IDX
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies
  • Schedule appointments, verifying visit type and primary care provider
  • Manage waiting room cleanliness and communicate pertinent information to patients
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, deferring to management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties as requested, including floating to other areas
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
