About The Position

Assists in performing a variety of registration, insurance verification, scheduling and billing duties in support of inpatient and outpatient access to medical services. The APASR (Associate Patient Access Service Representatives) is responsible for engaging eligible patients/members and facilitating enrollment into Health Management programs through proactive outreach, education, and relationship building. This role focuses on identifying eligible individuals, explaining program benefits, and supporting the enrollment process to ensure patients receive appropriate care coordination services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Position is in Nassau/Suffolk.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish, highly preferred.
  • Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records or CRM platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing pre-registration and registration duties
  • Obtains necessary demographic and insurance information and enters data into computer system
  • Obtains appropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial forms
  • Aids in verification of patient insurance coverage and other related data with third party carriers for scheduled appointments/procedures
  • Aids in obtaining patient’s insurance authorization required for services
  • Documents authorization approvals and denials in computer systems
  • Collects money due from patient at time of service
  • may preform billing, receivable and related functions.
  • Performs related duties as required.
