About The Position

ASSOCIATE PARK & RECREATION SPECIALIST (LIMITED TERM) - GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT/ SERVICE DRIVEN UNIT/ GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT OFFICE The reporting location for this position is the Gold Fields District Office in Folsom. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist. This position will have responsibilities and duties in coordinating the environmental review process for District projects including preparation of environmental documents and permit applications, coordinating the reviews of resource specialists and other staff, preparing documents for approval and signature, filing documents and tracking and reporting environmental projects. Other duties include: addressing requests for right of entry, encroachments and other real property issues; defensive planning; coordination or preparation of various recreation or land use plans, recreation project planning and management; and grant preparation and administration. The position may provide support for a variety of other programs, including revenue generation, concession planning and partnerships support. The duties require strong analytical abilities; good verbal and written communication skills; and an awareness of current social, outdoor recreation and environmental issues, trends and principles. This position will work with staff from all disciplines across the District, staff from various programs at Department headquarters, with members of the public, and with many other agencies and organizations including District management partner the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered. This position is a 12-month Limited-Term position that may be extended and/or become permanent. Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required.
